Gearing Up for Titan Studio Gallery

Crossroads: RGV Sculptor Opens his Studio for Last Friday Harlingen Art Walk.

Crossroads is a two person exhibition that features the work of Chicago Sculptor/Painter Alex Comminos and the steel sculptures of RGV’s Brian Wedgworth. The exhibit’s opening reception is FrIday, April 25, at 7pm.  The studio is located at 203 N. Commerce Street, Harlingen TX 78550

Comminos’ sculptures and paintings are organic in form and are combined with bold color and contrast. “I create sculptures to have a visual and physical presence that rips through space exciting one’s visual perception and creating a spatial tension between the viewer, the art and the surrounding environment.” The colorful work compliments Wedgworth’s geometric raw steel sculptures.  “The sculptures are autobiographical narratives… the shapes, the treatment of the surface, and the color convey the journey in my life”

For 10 years Brian Wedgworth has had his sculpture studio in Harlingen Texas. It has been more than just a space to create his metal, wood, and found object sculptures, it has also been a meeting place for artists, musicians, writers, and performers to interact and convene in one place. A Rio Grande Valley creative think tank he calls Titan Studios... a place of ideas, creativity and innovation...
